Reporting to the Vice President, Finance & Administration and contributing as a key member of the senior leadership team, the Associate Vice President (AVP), Human Resource Services will conceptualize the HR vision for the institution, provide guidance to a team of professional staff and promote harmonious labour relations across Kwantlen. The AVP, Human Resource Services engages all members of the University community in the achievement of its people goals through the development of the very best practices in all facets of the human resource management. The AVP, Human Resource Services is also responsible for the development of strategies that ensure a positive, healthy and safe work environment. As the ideal candidate, you bring ten to fifteen years’ experience as a strategic and progressive senior Human Resources executive with an extensive background in leading a large team in a complex and multi-faceted, unionized environment. You have a keen understanding of diverse institutional needs and are comfortable with taking a proactive approach in creating consultative partnerships with client groups. In addition, you bring outstanding consensus- and team-building skills and have a history of success in achieving buy-in from stakeholders and moving initiatives forward. Finally, you are known to be fair and equitable; to exercise good judgment on all issues; and to possess the presence, stature and knowledge to build credibility throughout the entire University.
