Within the Paragon family there are 19 retail pharmacies in BC, Alberta and Manitoba. Reporting to the CEO, the Vice President of Merchandising is responsible for leading the buying operations, assortment strategy, inventory control and merchandising plan for the front stores. The incumbent will provide strategic direction and leadership to Buyers, Category Managers and Front Store Managers, ensuring a complete understanding of Paragon’s vision, strategy, position and differentiation in the marketplace. As a key member of the Executive Team, the Vice President will play a significant role in driving Paragon’s growth and development. As the ideal candidate, you will possess a proven track record as a senior leader within a provincial or regional multi-site mass market retail environment. With excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills, you will bring a solid understanding of buying and merchandising principles and an enviable record of identifying and implementing new ideas related to retail sales growth that impact the bottom line profitability of a company. You have experience in the Open-To-Buy methodology as well as experience developing and executing strategic buying and merchandising plans that have led to increased profitability.
