Chief Projects Officer http://www.interiorhealth.ca Kelowna, BC Interior Health encompasses the entire Southeast corner of British Columbia, serving over 700,000 people in 55 municipalities and 53 First Nations communities. With a budget of nearly $1.5 billion, Interior Health’s team of 18,000 health care practitioners, including 1200 physicians, provide integrated world class care through acute care, home and community care, mental health and public health services. Reporting to the Vice President, Tertiary Services, the Chief Projects Officer (CPO) provides overall project management leadership for developing, executing, implementing and evaluating both the Interior Heart and Surgical Centre and the Kelowna/Vernon Hospital construction projects. The CPO is fully responsible for the timely delivery of all project deliverables within approved budget and timelines. Supported by a dedicated project team, the CPO will be responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining and generally managing an overall Project Management Plan that addresses all aspects of both projects. In addition to working with key staff from IH and the Provincial Health Services Authority, the CPO will work closely with the Ministry of Health Services and Partnerships BC to ensure successful implementation and integration of these two projects. Once the supporting infrastructure projects are finalized, the CPO will be responsible for the transition into full operations within an integrated and holistic framework. As the ideal candidate, you are a proven project manager with a demonstrated ability to shape and lead the development of large, complex construction projects involving a multitude of stakeholders and interested parties. You have experience in facilities development and management, as well as deep knowledge of financial and quality assurance functions. You have overseen the development of plans, risk assessment and the procurement of suppliers for large public development projects, and have had direct oversight over project implementation, commissioning and operationalization. In addition, you are a proven coach and mentor to staff and bring a high degree of credibility to the role. Ideally, you have experience with public private partnerships and a knowledge base of P3 best practices. An understanding of the Lean Construction/Workflow concept will be an asset.
