The retirement of the current President & Chief Executive Officer has created a unique opportunity for an individual with a demonstrated ability to galvanize teams, inspire excellence, guide strategic decision-making, and develop consensus among a broad range of stakeholders to build on the YMCA’s achievements with passion and energy and with a strong vision for the future. Reporting to the Board of Directors of the YMCA, the President & CEO has overall responsibility for developing the YMCA strategic direction and for providing leadership and vision for a team of 745 staff and 2,100 volunteers. The President will lead the development and implementation of the business plans necessary to realize Association objectives and will manage the YMCA in a manner that ensures strategic, operational and financial excellence. With responsibility for an operating budget in excess of $29 million, the President will inspire, engage and lead multiple internal and external stakeholders and will also provide leadership and vision to a number of associated organizations including the British Columbia YMCA Management Resource Centre, the YMCA Endowment Fund and the YMCA Properties Foundation. This is truly an amazing leadership opportunity for an executive who is a distinguished, inspirational and visionary leader with a proven and successful track record of management and operational experience as a senior executive of an urban YMCA, a complex not-for-profit organization or a public or private company.
