Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC)
Director, Corporate Budget & Analysis
http://www.icbc.com
North Vancouver, BC

The Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) is one of North America’s preeminent property and casualty insurance company. ICBC is an essential Crown Corporation that generates annual revenues of over $3.5 billion and currently has over $12 billion in assets. ICBC was established in 1973 to provide universal auto insurance for British Columbia’s motorists and has evolved into a highly customer-centric organization. Today, the Corporation is responsible for driver licensing, vehicle registration and licensing and being responsive to the changing needs and expectations of the driving public.

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Director of Corporate Budget & Analysis is responsible for the strategic direction and day-to-day activities of the budgeting, forecasting and planning units. The successful candidate will ensure delivery of high quality, client-focused service while providing leadership and direction to a team of professional staff. Enabling the effective implementation of business unit strategies, as well as business plans and policies will be a key component of the role. The Director, Corporate Budget & Analysis will be accountable for the planning and forecasting processes, performance review including measurement and targets, and divisional regulatory and analysis functions.

The ideal candidate will be a highly successful and confident finance professional who brings a strong robust approach to budgeting and planning, rather than simply a focus on controls. A minimum of 10 years’ experience as a senior manager in a large, complex organization, combined with an undergraduate degree and an accounting designation is essential. The successful incumbent will bring strong strategic planning experience and a solid business perspective to the role. Along with broad financial awareness and analytical skills, he/she will have outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities. An exceptional leader who has a proven ability to create a positive and enthusiastic work environment is a hallmark of a suitable candidate.

If you are interested in pursuing this challenging role with one of British Columbia’s leading Crown Corporations, please submit a cover letter and résumé in confidence to Shelina Esmail or Esther McGregor.
